silent hunter install Help please

Awhile ago I had to remove a bunch of stuff sadly silent hunter 4 was one of them"computer trouble"I used the uninstall program in vista now my computer has bin fixed but went to reinstall sh4 and it said that I have a previous install wich is 1.4 and needs to be uninstalled first????? does anyone have a remedy? checked my documents and the save file has bin removed also went into reg-edit and got all the traces I could find as well as nothing in program files.

Welcome to the boat mate.

Did you remove all your mods, I see you have downloaded a lot.
Back them up if necessary and make sure non are left and delete the SH 4 folder if it's still there.

I would put the new install in it's own folder rather than Programs Files.
Program Files causes problems for some people.

Someone had this very problem a few months ago but I don't remember what he did, but it was something to do with mods I think.
Did you check out the install on vista thread?

all my downloads were removed but saved in a zip folder in my documents my problem is when I put the cd in and I hit install it say's that there is version 1.4 which needs to be removed before installing 1.0 I messed up when removing the game by letting windows do it for me I know better but still it left it somewhere I looked in the registry and deleted all to do with SH4 on here I found a post about deleting a certain file in the registry which I did and still same thing I'm going to keep looking thank you for responding to my posts though any help or idea's someone gives me is welcomed
