Pacific war related cartoons you wont see on TV anymore

Apparently now banned from TV, but i remember seeing these as a kids. Search around youtube and you'll find all sorts, but these are the ones i found that are related to the pacific. If stereotyping and wartime propaganda bothers you, you probably don't want to watch these. Personally, ive always been fascinated by old cartoons, banned or not, because they give insights to cultural humor and influences at the time they were made.

I liked Popeye when I was a kid. I even wanted to have a corn cob pipe. As an adult, I know this was war propaganda. It still is funny depending on how you look at it.

We still get that kind of cartoon propaganda like the war with Iraq.

Yes, these cartoons are politically incorrect but they are still historic and part of the culture they came from. I enjoy watching these types of programs. Sadly, the political correctness has run amok in the non-propaganda cartoons also these days. The "violence" in the old Bugs Bunny and Daffy Duck cartoons has been horrendously censored for TV. Watching them now is painful when you see how blatant the editing is.
If I ever see a DVD with the unedited/uncensored originals in it I'm snapping it up in a hurry. I find it incredibly ironic that the morons who censor the hell out of an old Daffy Duck cartoon don't seem to have a problem with South Park or Family Guy which are shown during prime time these days.
As mentioned, signs of the culture we live in I guess.

Look up "Banned Cartoons" They are an 8 dvd set for around 50 bucks US.

Also the Loonie Tunes / Merry Melodies we watched in the 60s and early 70s can be had at dvd outlets, or else look up the Loonie Tunes Golden Years. You can watch Wylie Coyote fade out as goes off a cliff, and poof! a little cloud of dut kicks up from the canyon floor. Or Pete Puma with the big jutting chin and beadie eyes getting trounced by Bugs. My daughter said she never heard me laugh so hard!

The Warner Bros DVD collections can be pricey, but the hours of laughter can't be beat. And to say there aren't any morals in them is a joke. The biggest moral from most of those old cartoons is if you mess with someone, you'll usually pay in spades.
