For some reason they are not there - no bmp files, however i found out why.

pressing print screen as the manual suggests dosnt actually take a screen shot, at least not on my computer. I had to press Ctrl F11 then it took a screenie and noted it in the captains log.

Found as above in Ubisoft/SH5/Bmp

Yeah, PrintScreen just copies your screen to memory as part of Windows. As you discovered, Ctrl-F11 is the "take in game screenshot" command.
