Default Exit mission help please!

I'm confused.

I made it back to port after my first patrol with 3 kills under my belt (all showing nicely in the captains log), and hit the Dock at Lorient button. I come to start another patrol (from the latest save) and not only is the log showing no kills, but I appear to be starting my first patrol again.

Am I missing something? Do I have to do something else to get on my next patrol? All help gratefully received.

From "latest save", do you mean the "in port after patrol" save or the "in port before patrol" save?

I'm going to assume that before your next patrol, you went to the captain's office, changed torpedoes/crew/equipment as necessary and then clicked on the map to get your orders and started from there.

As far as the renown goes, did you do any modifications to tour sub prior to your first patrol?
I believe there is a bug in the game that shows 0 renown if you mod your sub prior to the first patrol. That may explain the renown thing.

As far as I can remember I didnt make any mods to the sub before the first tour. I'd read the bug report and was aware of it.

As for your first question, I dont remember seeing an "in port after patrol" save only the "in port before patrol" which according to the date/time stamp was before patrol 1 (the first time). And yes I did exactly what you thought I did. The latest save was the latest chronological save (cant remember what it said though - sorry, I'll try to give more info in future ).

It would appear you didn't hit the Esc key....that will automatically save your end of patrol data.

The above poster is correct of course....you should also refrain from upgrading your boat prior to your first patrol.

I hit the escape key to get from the game itself to the menu's. Is that what you're referring to Jimbuna? Or do I need to hit escape when I'm in the menus?

When you hit the Esc key it should ask you if you want to dock at....or end patrol or save and exit.

Initially select dock at....and the game will create an end of patrol data save.

After that you can come out of game or upgrade your boat or start another patrol etc.

On my installation I have to double click to confirm my action/intent, the first click only highlights the option.

Could this be what your doing wrong perhaps?

Perhaps it is the double click thingy. The rest is exactly what I've done. It just doesn't appear to want me to start a 2nd patrol. Perhaps the game is SO good it knows that I'm a danger to myself and my crew and its telling me politely to take up a different career.

It might be, I had trouble with saving games and whatnot when I started because I didn't catch on that I had to click twice to make certain things happen.

If the game were that clairvoyant I'd have been shuffled off to the infantry by now and probably be on my way to the Eastern front.

Hang on. I'm now back in the estuary. Hit the escape key, and I get the options: Options, Save, Continue, Exit Patrol and "Save and Exit". No mention of Dock at..

If I hit Exit Patrol it then gives me the option of Continue mission or Dock at...

If I hit Save or Save and Exit it goes to the save screen.

Previously I've used the Dock at... button when near port.

I click on Dock at and it goes to the Patrol history screen (the one with the picture of the bird with daisies growing out of her ears). This shows correct data for that mission.

I can then get back to the Career Menu.

If I go to the mission map I can start a 2nd patrol. However if I exit back to the front menu and come back to my game saves it only gives me the option of In base before mission (which was timed about 3 hours ago) and War is ended.(which it wont let me load). Oh yes and a Test save I created before I tried the Dock at option so I could get back if it failed to work.

Pick the bones out of that. I dont think I'm doing anything wrong. As for the double click, it jumps to the daisy girl after one click.

Oh yes. I'm only about 30 yds from dock when I try to Dock.

Just tried double clicking....no difference.

I'm doomed to patrol sector AL67 for the rest of eternity. Time to start enlisting undead crew.

After you have uninstalled, check that the SH3 folder has been removed.
If not, delete it yourself.
AND - check your documents folder, and delete the SH3 folder there, if it is still there.
