Default Advice Please

I currently have BARF installed.

Is Critical hits for torpedoes and BARF running at the same time overkill?
Is one Mod more realistic than the other?
Does the game play better with both installed side by side?

My concern is if i install Critical hits alongside my current BARF, i will end up one shotting everything which i obviously dont want.

Anyone have experiance with both these mods? feedback appreciated.

Personally, I found the critical hits to be somewhat unrealistic, even when running BRF. Most torpedoes tended to result in an instant kill, while the deck gun took out even large vessels with only one or two hits!

I'm currently running BRF + HP Balance + Damage Assessment, and in my opinion this is more than enough.

Essentially, all bets are off until after Patch 1.2. Nobody really knows what the Stock game will behave like relating to this particular problem, or anything else, until the Patch is released (about this time next week ). The need for a Mod to improve sinking mechanics may not be necessary. I know that given the track-record, that doesn't sound likely

Untill a fix turns up then ill continue using a mod to alleviate what i believe to be the most annoying thing in SH5. We play the game to sink shipping, and if it dont sink then that upsets me . So do you have a view on the available mods out there at the moment?

I'm running critical hits and barf and to be honest it seems pretty realistic to me. I occasionally one shot - but only yesterday I hit 4 ships in a convoy and had to wait a few hours for the DD's to return to the convoy so that I could finish the 4 ships off with the deck gun.

They were all sinking (very slowly) and had all stopped, but needed my help to go down.

I have sunk approx 20-25 ships since i installed BARF and i have yet to see a ship sink due to flooding, i have crippled some and made others completely loose propulsion. Still waiting up to 3 hours later for them to sink, generally get bored and finish them off with the DG.

This is where I stand right now too, however if after the patch things still are not up to par I will start using some of these great works by our modders. I have downloaded some and have them waiting but heck for all we know they may not be compatible after this patch so will have to wait it out a bit more to see.
To date I have only done four things to modify three of which I di myself to the commands cfg, and the other was the no halo mod which I did manually without JSMGE since I have all the backups needed to undo it and I know where everything is and is a simple thing to undo, as are the cfg changes I made for the other three things.
