Default Sky looks ugly in DW

Just bought DW and found out that the sky looks ugly. There seem to be only a few colors available to display the sky which leads to color contours. no continuous changes of the sky color as I know them from SH3 or SH4.

Any solutions?

Thanks.

At Bill Nichols Site you can have a couple of improvements and tons of other stuff.
However even with this imrpovements DW looks ugly. You cant compare the Graphics with any of the SH Series or any other Game since 1995

In DW its all about accurate simulation of acustics and stuff.

Well SH3 was an experience sim thus graphics play a big part but DW is more like a task sim(functionality sim) so 3D graphics take a back seat.

Comparing DW to SH3 is like comparing a book to a voice recording. They are of different type of simulation.

It doesn't mean DW sucks though at times it could be more tense than the moments in SH3.

Main reason is DW is fixed to 16 bit screen modes. There is no solution for that.

Ok, thanks guys.

Allow me one more question: It's a big difference between unmodded SH3 and SH3+Supermod. Unmodded Sh3 is not worth playing. Using a supermod enhances the gameplay very much.

It that the same for DW? Or is unmodded DW already good?

Well

There are couple supermod for DW

  1. There's LWAMI mod the first that came out.
  2. There's Alfa Tau from the Italian community it's based on older LWAMI
  3. There's DWX whose newest release has been suspended temporarily until some fixes are done. It's the biggest mod out there as far as I know. It came from the Russian community.
  4. There's supposed to be a mod from the French community which is also based on LWAMI but I've never tried or looked into it

To bring all that good described mods into comparsion between SH3 and DW:
If u play SH3 with any of the supermods u get a new game.
In DW the changes are minimal in comparsion to the things SH3 modding community can do. So dont expect a difference like stock SH3 and GWX for example.
At least i would recommened to play stock first and then try out the mods.
LWAMI might be a good choice as first mod
