How do you turn it off? I hear there is a key for this but i just cant find out.

be warned:
If you turn it off, and then do something that makes it come back on by itself... some of the info will be missing. Things like tooltips and status icons at the top-right. You'll need to toggle it off and back on again. This is the main cause of people not seing the "dock at port" icon. |

Indeed, yes the HUD's info system is not on unless the HUD is activated by shift+Z. Any other action that brings it up will have this info system not on. You'll know it's not by mousing over something like a waypoint and no info about it will be displayed. If so, then hit shift+Z and it the info will then be displayed.
