Default The Spy in Liverpool

Sorry if this has been addressed.

I cant get this guy off the boat. Ive run up on shore, waited forever, tried going in sideways even. He wont leave the sub. The only trigger I can think of is I came to shore at night and maybe it still needs to be dusk i dunno. Anyone know what else I can try?

It seems to be pretty random. For some it works just ok, some need to wait and for some (like me) it just refuses to work.

I feel your pain. I am in the same situation.

No matter what I do it does not work. I've even beached my sub to see if I had to be "docked" or whatever. No go.

Is it a game breaker if I just say screw it? Or do I absolutely need it to continue on?

Oh and BTW Ubi...

NICE TUTORIALS!! 25 hours played now and I just found that the macro missions are merely something to do on the way and are not the prime objective

Has anyone out there actually completed this? How close do you need to get to shore? Do you have to be parked on the marker?

Hell if I know. I'm stuck on the same thing. I've gotten so close to the marker that I'm taking hull damage, engines all stop, nightime and everything everyone else mentioned. I can't make this damn thing work.

1) Get a few km away from the drop off zone (the map marker and NOT Liverpool itself!)
2) Save game
3) Reload savegame and travel to the drop off spot surfaced and WITHOUT time compression. You have to come pretty close to the marker ( I believe 3km)

I am not sure but I had to sit until 0400 to get the guys off the boat. At the bottom of this page are some screens.

In SH4 once you were in postion you had to shut the engines down to get the men off the boat.

I think I figured it out. I tried everything on the forums, but nothing. Time compression doesnt seem to matter, I was further away from the distance marker than some people reported and it was close to midnight when the spy finally launched, but in Neals pictures, it appeared to be midday. The only constant I could see was the fact that people said they had to wait several hours before they would get the message. If youre struggling with this, try getting within 500m of the marker, engines off and time compress for about 8 hours. I think Ubi was going for a waiting game rather than a quick drop off.
