Default can I just ask...?

I am in the game, at last, and I have completed the objectives of the training mission, so now I have to get back to Kiel. There is no compression available yet so do I have to chug all the way back for real or will the mission complete when I have travelled so far? Too tired to wait and see tonight.
Also, I went up top just for a peek, and there wasn't a watch up there - and this is in wartime, eh??

I found a bug where the captains log would not go away and nothing else was clickable. Had to restart. That apart all went well, but I would prefer to just be able to get on with it and choose for myself if I need training.

Time compression, either click the +/- near the top right, if I recall correctly its by the travel mode button, which helps when near friendlies.

Or, use the number pad +/- keys.

Goes up to 4500k or something.

Hehe, actually there is TC, but the TC panel will not show up till you plot a course all the way back to Kiel to the objective icon.
But even without the panel the TC still works by + and - on the keypad, you just wont now at what level of TC yer at.
Also the \ key stops TC to 1X

I loved this one. Didn't get TC instructions until I was almost there.

You serious, how long did that take?

TC was the first thing I looked for, lucky me the + key is large... it was trying to slow down that was the problem!

Yup yer not alone mate, same here. As in the past in SH3 I never plot out the course that far, just to the entrance of the harbor. So yeah I didnt plot all the way in till right before reaching that point, then the panel came up and instructions.

You don't get the TC UI elements until you finish the previous objective. If you haven't properly plotted a course you don't get them.
