Default Cannot get on server..

I got an expensive new graphics card today so I can play SH5 - and now I can't get onto the bloomin server to try it! I get a notice telling me there is no internet connection (Windows Seven), but there is.

I can get on their site and it accepts my password so it isn't a registration issue either. Going round in circles with support - useless.
It is getting too much of a palaver when getting new games, what with copy protection problems, jumping through hoops for registering a product etc.

I bought a game, new, I was told, a week or so back, which I cannot play properly until I am registered. I tried to register and when it kept refusing me and I contacted support I eventually got told it is already registered to someone else. It is not an online game. I have had to send personal details and scans to the games support, and am still waiting a further response, three days on from sending my info. Fed up up UP!

John's suggestion of executing Ubi execs isn't sounding too bad nowadays.

Read somewhere something about it not working in Win7/vista if the default install path C:/programfiles/ blah blah was used.

In otherwords put it in its own folder NOT under program files

Maybe someone a little more helpful can fill in the details.

Steam, it isn't in the default directory, and I don't use a proxy so those two possibilities are cancelled out for me - but thanks for the suggestion. I have managed to get a question sent to UBi support now - so now I am waiting on TWO big games houses which have my cash. EA isn't falling over its feet to sort registration out on Sims 3; I hope Ubi are considerably faster in responding to their customers problems.

I understand I am only one of many folk in the same situation of not being able to access the Ubi servers. Not much of a consolation except to suppose that fact will cause them to seek a solution soon.

Sometimes to save the body, we must cut off the head. Ubisoft is a good company.

(OK, that is not a real saying)

We should go back to reading books. Gaming is too distressing.

Why?

The guillotines of the revolution are now cheap and ready to go.
