Can you play the game without accepting the missions in the campaign mode, I mean just go out and sink ships or do you have to go along with these dumb missions?

Each mission has an end date to it. I'm not sure what happens if you don't complete them in time. But yes you can ignore the missions and just go out and do what you like.

Hmmm, well yes I do remember seeing the option of starting patrol without selecting a mission(during the dialog with the base commander.). But I think that may have your sinkings not counted perhaps, butI dont really know that for sure.

Yeah you can go on free patrol if you like. But I still woud like to get orders to patrol a grid or coordinates where BDU wish me to be at least..

Hmmm, does that mission patrol area icon dissapear once you reach it? I've reached it but it still is there on the map. Kinda be nice to have the map clear of that being as it's so big.
