Ahoj sailers!

As mentioned above, I'm looking for this mod which changes the sh3 environment (maybe not just the water, but also the skys?). Does anyone know where I can download it?

Thanx in advance

Default SH5 water

Just so you know...your frame rates will take a hit. Though my system can handle it OK, there is a drop. This ENV/Water mod is very well done. I am on a patrol in the very North Atlantic with the Arctic Water/Env on. Breath-taking.

yepp. but the nights are as dark as - dunno. VERY dark. even on my high contrast screen I only sea silhouettes at night. Wonder, how much I can see when I got a clouded sky (which usually makes the darkest nights in sh3). Nuttin' I guess.

Good hunting!

Default Darkness

Yeah....December in the North Atlantic is basically "dark". You get 2-3 hours of daylight (more like twilight). And if it is cloudy plus rain...well...you're not gonna see your hand in front of your face. Probably just like in the real world.

One suggestion.....download the North Atlantic Howling Wind Sound mod using the new SH5 water mod together. If and when the weather is 7-10 m/s...with the howling wind..... Pretty awesome!!

Postscript: This water mod is a must in my opinion. Totally changes the characteristics of the sim itself. The cloud cover definitely influences water color. Wave types (I use 3D Waves also), foam, wakes, and the realistic slow water motions looks like the real thing. Kudo's to the designer.

Yes, but ONLY the 16km Version of this MOD (when you have enabled the 16km Add-On from WAC) !

Best regards,
Magic

Was looking at this one too.
For GWX3 do you just disable GWX 16k atmosphere and enable whichever of the sh5 water for sh3 mods you choose? As I understand it this mod is based on gwx files so that seems right?

Default SH5 water mod for SH3

I do in fact have the GXW 16km mod on. I inserted that first via JGSME then the water mod (16km version). However, not sure that is necessary. Make sure you download the .8v of the mod, not the .7v. I had a complaint at first because the .7 version was not quite right. My horizon was "bad" and the ships were "cut off" from the fog if over 8km or so. Once I loaded the .8v, all was fixed.

16km version

20km version

I personally favor the 16km version. But that's me. Also, compare ocean movement speed between the original/GWX and this mod. Huge difference.

I agree full heartedly. They say a picture is worth a thousand words, well my pictures do not due this mod justice, so maybe they're worth only about 500 words,
but my VIIB has never looked better than when it's sailing in rik007's water.

Good Hunting
