Default Pirates

If a hacker can gain access to a so called secure government site like the CIA, what happens.....they hire him !

So it would stand to reason that UBI should hire the best pirate out there to come up with a way to stop the other pirates.

Sometimes the answer is staring you right in the face

Aye, nothing better to foil a hacker, than another hacker.

Which has always perplexed me why hackers waste their time hacking just for hacking's sake when they could be making a fortune at it leagally.

There's actually a lot that do have "reputable" jobs and employed by Development companies to safeguard a product or test it...
One such company that comes to mind is Microsoft.
And to the hackers who are big on the scene, it's not a waste of time for them, it's all about who's biggest on the scene, who's first to do this or that, etc etc...And doesn't that happen everywhere in life? It's not uncommon to display who's the biggest and the best, human nature.
Some of the people who do that sort of "work", i use that term losely, actually take it very seriously.
(Regardless what you think of these people).

Why climb mount Everest? Because it was there.

Why do guys run around a field tossing a ball to each other? To see who can do it best.

Why are there Olympic Games every two years? To see who can do it best.

Why do drivers spend time driving around in a circle on a track? To see who can do it best.

Some people get their challenges in the physical activities, some get them in mental pursuits.

It's all about proving who's got the biggest....... bragging rights.

Ahhh well, geuss I just never been into or understood the macho thing.

I was the quiet and suave one who swooned the macho guy's girlfriends while they were busy showing off.
But I was a musician in those days, so I stole a lot of girlfriends with ease.

Which, deny it or not, is a very macho thing to say.

The term you're after is 'white hat' hackers (Nothing to do with that retarded Bruce Willis Movie's description of what 'black hats' are)

These guys are hired by large companies and governments to do what they do and provide a defence against 'black hats'.

Hell there are even regular competitions in hacking, legitimately sponsored by most of the major software firms, governments, the lot.
