.DDS files. Which format to save as?
I've edited some .dds files, but am not sure which format/compression to save them as. There are sooo many options (using the Nvidia dds plugin for Photoshop), so does anyone know which kind the dds files should be? DXT1, 5, floating point kind, or...
![]() I tried just saving the edited files with a random compression, and they got the texture mapping all screwed up in game. Heh. |

Save them as .bmp files. Then use a .dds converter to convert it to DXT1. I use a program called DXTBmp. I don't know about Photoshop plugins, but the GIMP .dds plugin doesn't work all that great (the textures in the game look discolored and psycadelic).

![]() Tillader mig at skrive på dansk så. Nu har jeg selv arbejdet en del med de dds filer, og der er desværre ikke andet for end at prøve sig frem med hver type. Prøv at gemme den overarbejdet fil ved siden af den oprindelige ved f.eks. at tilføje 1, 2, 3 osv sidst i filnavnet. Finder du en type, der har samme størrelse i kb/mb, så er du måske nok tæt på, og så kan du jo prøve at lave det parat til JSGME og så prøve ad. Det er desværre nok det der skal til. Ja, hårdt arbejde at modde. Jeg bruger i øvrigt selv photoshop plugin'et og kan kun anbefale at fortsætte med det.
