Yes, BtS is back !!!!!!!!!!

Back in January of 2007, -SWCowboy, Capzap1970, and Koondawg started the original BtS-Mods.com. BtS is short for Beyond the Shadows, and is the sister site to BtS-Gaming.com which is a online gaming community for America's Army and Call of Duty.

Due to some problems with Spammers hyjacking a database, and software issues, the old site had to be closed. Basically the server host was not built for what we use the database for. Russ (-SWCowboy) had no choice in the matter, he even received some penalty fees which were outrageous. This all happened at a bad time also, because Russ was busy transferring to a new unit in the Navy, looking for a new house for his wonderful wife and baby girl, and working hard with another website.

Capzap1970 and myself were the current Admins for the site, and we enjoyed it so much, we put our heads together to come up with a plan to get BtS back up and running. Capzap suggested to me over an MSN chat, that maybe we could take over the site with Russ' blessing. After Russ returned from a deployment, he graciously gave us permission and the rights to use the BtS name.

Thankfully, just before the "crash", I created a full website backup, and preserved all mod files along with their thumbnails. Unfortunately, all posts made from the day BtS-Mods opened until July of 2009 were lost. Even though we have to start over from scratch, we will provide all the same services as before, and more. We currently have U-boat Skins, Ships, Intro Screens, Supermods (GWX and WAC), Maps, Utilities, and much more. At the moment, we are still uploading all the files, so it will still take a bit of time to get them all transferred and put up on download pages. We will carry as many SH3, SH4, and SH5 mods as we can cram into 1TB of disk space. Eventually, we will also start setting up downloads for other games as well, like IL2, Flight Simulator X, and any other requests we might get.

Myself and Capzap would like to thank Russ for teaching us everything about running a download site, and setting the platform to run it with a friendly and helpful atmosphere. We also want to thank Neal for allowing us to post this sticky here, and hope we can work together to keep our Silent Hunter experience the best it can be, and continue to make it better.

Thank you everyone,
The BtS Team

If you would like us to host your mods, please contact me, Jimbuna, or Wolfhunter (and Capzap as soon as he comes out of MIA status).

Thank you,
Tuddley

Ooooo, Carotio is a big man with big words...

Quote:
Todd,

you have your "own" site to download mods from, and where you choose in full public to talk about me behind my back. Just as you previously have chosen on several occasions to reveal and forward private conversations with people for whom the content never was intended. You start up a site and keep asking your members for money to maintain not only the site, but also for your private life. Moreover you had the indecency to rally up your wolfpack to attack my brother when I asked him to post on my behalf in the Ubi forum. That clearly demonstrates YOUR character.

Too bad for you that I actually have a brother and that several of the attendants met him at the Copenhagen Subsim meet 2009 and thus could confirm his existence. And even more too bad for you and your BtS friends that you don't have control over the ubi forum as moderators any more. I got back my ubi account exactly because I revealed the entire truth to both tambor198 and ms-kleaneasy: that I originally was banned because I had posted a self-censorised erotic photo and also that I had created several accounts in order to reach old friends in the ubi forum. I laid out all the bad cards from my point of view on the table and hid nothing. And guess what? That's why I got allowed back in. Not by smooth talk or lies, but the truth of my former mistakes. Honesty pays off. Maybe you should try that for once.

And maybe you should go out and get yourself a job instead of leaching off on your father and your forum members. Asking for donations for the maintenance for a site is one thing, but to ask for money to bail out your legal problems? Seriously, go get a life....
Anyway, I think you should try the experience of being banned from reading a useful dedicated Silent Hunter forum, so here's my present to you: a moment of silent consideration in which you can rethink your previous actions towards me and other people in another light.
Have a nice life, I wish you no harm. You take care of that yourself.
Adios, amigo.
Very nice speech

LOL - So I don't know the history behind this feud but its quite obvious you do post his private messages. I wonder what else he could be right about.

This is probably the strangest mod thread I've ever read. Is it really meant for the Subsim forum? This is 30 seconds of my life I'll never get back...next time post submarine stuff, not gossip and personal vendettas.
