Default Could use some help please...

Greetings:

My current video card broke while playing SH5 the other night and I need to buy a new one. I was looking at this model on Newegg:
Radeon HD 5770 (Juniper XT) 1GB 128-bit GDDR5 PCI Express 2.0 x16 HDCP Ready CrossFireX Support Video Card

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814102858

In your opinions, does look efficiant enough to run this game, running Windows 7.

Thanks!

As long as you have a PCI-E port that should work nicely for you.

Was your previuos card from Nvidia?

Mine broke too and I ordred a ATI 5770 as well. People have stated that it is sufficient, but bear in mind that some things also depend on the rest of your setup.

No, I had a ATI Radion card that just broke.

Now here is something puzzling, I always assumed high end 3d cards had to be expensive but look here:

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16814130395

$69.00 and from the reviews it plays all the high end games great. Am I missing something?

Thanks a lot guys btw.

The 9500GT is no highend Card !
The perfect card for you depends on how much
money you want to spend !
- 100 Euro , ATI Radeon HD4870 512MB
100- 150 Euro , ATI Radeon HD 4870/4970 1GB
200-330 Euro Nvidia GTX 285 / little better Ati 5850

I didnt say it was a high end card, I said it plays high end games well; COD Modern warfare & others.

I wonder how high end we need for SH5?

Which quality you want to play ?
What i wanted to say is that you got a Dx11 card with
the 5770 but with a 128bit bandwidth (i think a 95ooGT is no option)! In higher quality you will get in trouble
soon. Not only the amount of RAM is the mark you have to watch.

Ask yourself in which quality you play consider youre budget look at a few
test's and you will get the right produkt for youre needs.
I posted some card's which are very good even in cost-performance ratio !

If it helps : i play with a Q6600@3,2 GH'z and 8GB Ram and
the card is a 4870 1GB on a 22' flat ! 1920x1080 no problem
with anything on in highest quality.

Sorry if it look like posing should be an example !

Isn't that hard to get the right card for youre need's you simply have to be sure of youre budget and youre need's .

regards

I agree, stay away from the 9500. They are fooling people with the 9xxx, the 9800 is okay, but anything under it is going to struggle with todays games at high res.

5770 should suffice.

That is the exact same card I just included in my new rig. No problems at all so far. I am convinced it is one of the best cards out there if you consider how much bang for the buck. No driver issues, preformance is fantastic (in my opinion), can run anything I throw at it maxed out,all for about 150 bucks. In regards to shadow issues some people have had with other cards, shadows are no problem with this thing.Am talking about 5770, didn't realize this post was so far from the first one!

Default Nvidia 9800

Just a comment. I have Nvidia 9800GT 1GB. It's otherwise excellent but if you toggle shadows on in latest games performance drops a lot.
