Magnetic detonators seem to have problems. I must have fired a hundred torps with impact detonators and even when striking at really wonky angles I've never actually seen a dud yet. With the ~10 torps with magnetic detonators so far not a single one actually detonated, and all passed perfectly 0.5-1m underneath the target.

Same for me. Can't afford to waste Torps so I stick with 3m depth. Guess either the magnetic detonation is bugged or the failure rate/dud rate of them is...

in the beginning of the war even as late as the norwegencampame
there where torp problems read about it at www.uboat.net
even the great uboat ace's had problems whith dud's and premature
detonations do to the cold water temp.

Default Circule runner

Have not encountered any duds yet but have experienced a couple of circle running tops ie you fire them at target a) in front of you but the torp turns left or right and just goes round in circles - I know the Yanks had this problem, in fact they lost one or two sub aces to it - they sank themselves - not sure if the Germans had the same issue

But was cheered to notice that I had a problem as up until this every shot hit home which as we all know is crap

i've had all of my mag-pistol torps fly straight under the keel to no effect except ONE which snapped a tanker neatly in two.

if it wasn't for this one i'd write it off as a bug, but I'm guessing the 'dud rate' is just really high in the early war. hopefully it gets better or i'm going to be forced to stick to the semi-effective impact pistol.

I have had one torp hit a ship at a steep angle and it bounced off and then continued on another path...

I have had one mag torp detonate under the rear of a ship and it blew the back end of the ship clean off...

I have had another torp TII detonate early....

I shot a perfect salvo at the HMS Queen elizabeth, all 4 torps went under the ship, only around half a meter but none detonated. I thought that was the point of magnetic detonators? To add insult to injury, I got pwned by 8 destroyers.
