Default Silent Hunter 5 boring me

Hello kameraden. I played a lot SH3, so I think, SH5 is the same, the same game and strategy. It is very boring to me now drawing lines, make calculus, etc. (playing "realistic" mode always)

Is this the end of SH for me?

Reading your posts I figure out what is happen to me with SH
I hate the fast foward cam view x32 (all things moving like crazy), this is so unrealistic/arcade that makes me hate it. I constantly turn to the full map to escape from this awful scene when I have to compress the tiem

If you read some real life patrol logs you can see how interesting submarine life can be. Things like convoys being redirected based on sub sightings, mechanical failures, HF/DF communications intercepts, radar jamming... all stuff not modeled in SH5.

They had a chance to implement more of this, to make patrols more interesting. Instead they remove simulation features and add nicer graphics. It will guarantee more sales I guess, but they had a chance to make SHV legendary. Too bad they failed. IMO SH was at it's peak with SHIII, only to decline in quality to better suit the mainstream market.

What is the next step? Consoles? Imagine SHV with a PS3 controller

Time compression itself is arcade, but some concessions have to be made to fit this game into a regular life.

With "versions" almost released for mobile phones & ipod touch PS3/XBOX/WII versions suddenly don't seem so far fetched anymore. Ubi recently said they would expand and concentrate on their franchise titles recently so anything is possible.

Actually it is not so far fetched considering the enormous potential of the console market. They already made SHV for the iPhone.

Expect the worst
