Default 3 Quick Questions from a greenhorn please

1) My recently installed SH5 is defined as V .1.1.5. So I am assuming the 1.1 patch advertised on this forum is not relevant for me ---??

2 i am interested in using the much more familiar command key mod based on the SH3/4 games --but notice that some letters like "S" (surface) etc are in SH5 used for key movement command. Are there any alternative means of movement command for SH5?

3 Finally is SH5 always going to be updated and patched automatically on line without informing us beforehand so we can remove mods which might conflict etc. If so presumably installing independent mods is going to pose a constant problem for us isnt it.
Many thanks for any clarifications on these basic confusions .

Hey Pcelt. Will try to help out. I take it you d/l your game via steam or some other online client, as mine is also patched to 1.15 and seems like some issues others have had are not in my game, so I presume it is more up to date, however I will like to know 100% myself.
2. I d/l a mod from CCIP called Command Keys 1.02 and It made the game instantly more enjoyable on that one the arrow keys are used to move and w,a,s,d are as they were in SH3/4
3. In steam you can have the option to auto install patches etc or give permission 1st.

Hope I could help

There's so much moving required in this game that replacing the WASD with arrow keys just so can press S instead of R seems wrong to me. I tried command keys, but constantly having to reach over from WASD to the arrow keys while still using the mouse just... HURT. Totally not ergonomic at all.

It's a matter of habit with that I suppose. I for one always had a "free" interior cam in SHIII/IV (ever since it came out as a mod by sergbuto), and I was used to "walking" the sub with arrow keys. But to each his own

It's quite easy to edit the keystrokes by hand... just takes some time, unfortunately.
