suddenly lost course change arrow controls after 2nd patrol

..after 2nd patrol I returned to Kiel and refitted (no option to end patrol, apparently reassigned to Bremen according to map icon..not to mention that Kiel WAS the base with submarine icon until I got there); anyway, using the arrows keys to change the course doesn't anymore gives the info in the command text window... if I do shift-arrow I get readouts for hard to port/starboard, but not small turn. Also the rudder amidships doesn't show any confirmation.. I had to exit to windows and restart the game to get this fixed...anybody experienced this and why is this happening? poor coding?

jeeeezz this "game" starts to go on my nerves..
