Default Steam & Ubi's DRM

Anyone know how this exactly works? Aren't Steam games tied to Steam as in they are run thru Steam? How the game starts?

Normally, Steam starts the application, but in this case, does it start the DRM application which then starts the game application?

Wouldn't this use more system power (I know I know, we aren't talking about THAT much, but still, unnecessary load) and more importantly, wouldn't this open another door for the pi-arr-ates to crack it?

Any info would be appreciated.

(Yes, I'm caving in and thinking of buying it thru Steam tomorrow )

If it was like Grand theft auto 4 than it will be seperate from steam (DRM).
The game will launch through steam but also require the uplay service and UBI account to play.

I bought SH4 and the Uboat add on via the UBI site and it was pretty painless.

It is still available for me to download after 2 years and no worries.

DirecteDrive is the same as well. All three options are fine but will need the uplay service to operate until it is cracked or UBI removes it via a patch likem SH3/4.

All i can say is i don't think it would be steam servers otherwise SH5 would come with a offline mode and that we know aint happening yet. All steam games i own have offline mode option apart from the multiplayer games like TF2.

So you must still have to connect to ubisoft.

If that's what you mean

I would guess that is how it would start.

We wont for sure know until someone has DL'd it.

But I know for a fact that you would still have to use OSP.
