If it had said that on Saturday, I wouldn't have cancelled mine. One last swing through the Best Buys this afternoon then it's Digital D/L for me.

... and I just took vacation time the rest of the week. Been years since I've done that for a game.

Hmmm...

Just checked the status of my order at Amazon.co.uk after reading this and the delivery estimate is 8th March - and I paid more for next-day too!

I am just about to leave the house for a Dentist appt, after which I was going to strategically swing by 2 Best-Buys and a couple of Gamestops :-) but now I just have to wait until the 4th (I paid extra for 1-day shipping too, got two-day shipping free for signing-up for Amazon Prime although I doubt I'm going to pay the $80/year to maintain that past the trial period).

I've bought a lot of games over the past year or two at $5-$10 on Steam, GG, D2D, etc. - in a few rare cases I've bought new releases on sale at BB for $10 off - this will be the first time in years that I've actually pre-ordered or paid full retail price for a game.

my son called me to tell me he ordered it for me from amazon , but read a post there about Shopto ..

Its in stock and if you order it before 5:30pm they will send it 1st class there and then, after 5:30pm they will send it 1st class the next day.

Easy, Cancel Amazon and reorder through Shopto, I just did, took them a whole 10 mins before i got the dispatched email. Should be here tomorrow, OK its not the limited edition version but it is cheaper, and they do seem to be sending them out today, unlike Amazon who wont be sending them out till the 4th.

I cancelled my Amazon order and will be DL 'Gold" from D2D tonight when its released after midnight. If I like it, will then order some hard copies for the collection and to give away. If I deem it "bookcase material until modded" then will wait to order the hard copy.

I really like D2D, they still show the UBM addon on my account, I can download it and still get my original 'activation key'. Now thats customer service for $9.95!

Well its not really an option for everyone. Yesterday I went to 5 Best Buys here in Houston and not one of them had it. I think I'll check the one closest to me again tonight. If not, then I'll just go to Gamestop tomorrow and pick it up.

well to be fair, pre order is normally the way to go, however they do seem to have dropped the ball this time

I must be lucky then, apart from GTA 4, episodes which turned up two days after the release date, Ive been farly lucky, all pre orders including SH3 and 4 have turned up the day before.

However I must say, I have never heard of a game being availble in so many high street places a week before release before. Think someone may have dropped the ball of the release of this.

But at end of day, That does mean we get it early.

Just got to shop around a find someone who is selling. Hence why amazon just lost my pre order. They are still only shipping from the 4th. Shopto ships today with promised delivery tomorrow. Well I know its only a few days but I know what i would chose.

Though still have many preorders in for rest of year, so fingers crossed they go well.

I live in the Netherlands and the game officially comes out on the 4th here, but you can download it from the 2nd and onwards,,, weird weird, but I ordered my copy at bol.com one of the better sites over here when it comes down to all your electronic stuff! ill get my copy on may 4th
