Fool's Gold?

I ordered the gold version from Ubi--but am wondering what the value of the non-playable subs is. They are type VII boats which we know, are playable, but with unique historical skins? What are the chances that I'm going to run into Lemp's boat while on patrol? And that I'll be able to drop my jaw when I see the boat's beautifully rendered skin??

Anyway--it will be nice to have the 100 page PDF Guide.

IMO the Gold version isn't worth the money. A pdf file and a couple of skins? Honestly, I thought UBI was kidding me when I read that.

But then I'm surprised they didn't add a special 8,8cm deck gun with "20% increased rate of fire" and 'special edition' torpedoes with increased speed.

I'm likely getting the gold edition. Skins are not a big lure for me. I wonder what the odds are of actually encountering any of them? The strat guide, though, was what appealed to me, even if there's unlikely to be anything in it the average uboat fanatic doesn't already know.

i thought that the manual and keyboard shortcuts were actually printed in the limited edition version, rather than be in a .pdf file like the standard version?

The Gold Edition is download only, so no printed material.

Don't take this as gospel, I could be wrong. There's a Collector's Edition in the metal box with additional skins and a hardcopy(?) of the strategy guide. It's not available in North America.

Then there's a Gold Edition, download ony, available only in North America, that has some skins and the strat guide on PDF.
