i guess this was supposed to be a remider to check for a game patch before anyone starts getting too involved in whats wrong with the game

I would be under the impression that it would not be available if it exist until the very last minute on release day.

Usually that is how it works.

The game checks for patches automatically at start up. No need to put it on the checklist

If there is a early patch, I hope it is included in the download I get from UBI on release day.

That is the question.

My guess is they will be auto patched (Ubi controlled) and if the new patch screws up the game then there is no chance to be able to roll the patch back to a previous patch. meaning that your game is unplayable until the next patch comes out.

Like ETW patch 1.3 did to me. killed my game til patch 1.4 came out (2 weeks later)

Not only that, but you may have a career where you are out on patrol and the patch will kill said career. You should have the option to wait to upgrade until you are back at port.

If UBI's track record with previous releases is anything to go by don't expect more than 3 patches.

By the time the mod community are in full swing we will most likely be on our final patch.
