I cant recall hear about german uboats in the pacific ocean. Buts thats just a small pond in between 2 continents.

"Monsoon" Boats were what inspired the SH4 addon for german subs in the Pacific. There were some, though not much to be noted, not IMO.

ahh, I thought monsoonboats only operated in the Indian ocean.

I always thought these middle-range classes were turned down for the longer
reaching 9 class.

Uboats did not operate in the pacific ocean. They operated in the Indian ocean. Only ONE uboat ever penetrated the pacific. That was U-862.

To say "uboats operated in the pacific ocean", with only one boat poking around syndey and new zealand is a bit of a stretch.
