TMO 19 RSRD 100 realism Gato class Feb 1 1944, off Marianas in Truk shipping lanes.
Find a convoy, attack in night surface, three large merchants with 3 escorts.Fire six Mark 14's at two big merchants, three hit and split one in two, other three missed just ahead when target make the super evasive moves the can in SH 4(crap) anyway raced ahead for end around to do a day periscope attack with Mark 18's in m stern tubes. Somehow they detected me while close in, forced me deep, avoiding charges. They were tough to lose, couldnt seem to lose them.Usually tough but not this tough. Was time to go to bed so had to save game. Before I went to bed, was curious so went to the ME to look up the files in RSRD.Found my convoy, departed Tokyo around 24 of January and was heading for Truk....two Nagara Marus, one Hakusika Maru and three escorts including a full sized DD, two set to "veteran" skill level one set to elite , no wonder they are tough.Usually one is set to vet and two are set to competent, which is realistic.Of all the convoys to run into lol fun stuff. |

lol its funny because usually even TMO escorts are not that hard to lose in deep water, i found some tactics that work even in later war when Japanese ASW is tougher. Not these guys, giving me quite a fit

Go to Formosa late war bubble and you'll get your challange. Have 4-8 Type AB's on you in 200 ft of water. Not to mention planes will join in mass and you're in the middle of Duc's minefields....something usually gets you.
