Default SH3 GWX vs SH4 Etc.. Why?

Now with the new Sh5 on the corner, I got my hands on SH4 and teh UBOAT addon, and downloaded Monsun and some other addons, like the speech fixes and so on..

Why is it I cannot get into SH4? it looks euh.. plastic.. why is SH3 looking so much better, the riding on the waves and with GWX3 its a 'perfect' combo.

I cant grow into Sh4.. and am afraid for SH5 to be the same.

Sh3 has something sinister, something strange.. if one turn his monitor to B&W its like an old movie!

Any thoughts why ?

because the boats in SH4 looks like giand plastic toys, and secondly the crew looks like toy soliders too. and the interface is to hard to decipher all the time.

It is a matter of preference. I have SH4 but my preference is GWX and I have four seperate installs of the super mods.

SH3
SH4
SH 5 I hope!
Knights I hope!

I like them both, prefer SH4 as a better platform with better play for the most part, but needing the full supermod treatment with the graphics candy as well as gameplay already provided. That said, I won't abandon SH3 as long as SH4 doesn't have the GWX/WAC style and no SH4 Commander.

Happily running a career in each. They both bring something different to the table.
I don't play favorites, love each one for what it has to offer me.

I perfer 3... with GWX... I dont know, just has a good feel to it... It may not have The best graphics, & stuff... but it feels more realistic... and for the uboats.. SH4 W uboats just feels like somthing rigged in. not actualy a Uboat game...

I happen to like them both, but I've always thought that SH4 would be a lot better if there were an SH4 Commander.

Had 14 separate installs of SH3 & 4 with a various assortment of mods/supermods at one point and they all offer something different.Managed to cull them down a bit since.
So do I fancy tropical sun and icecream or oilskins and kippers ? either way Im covered.
Just fortunate to have so many options with all the mods available to tailor our games in a way that delivers what we want from them.
For that I am thankful

Yes, I like the mods, both are very well done, thats not it.

How can I describe.. FS9 vs FSX is Sh3 vs Sh4, the latters look so cartoonish, is it a photo filter? I dont know but a lot of new games look so fake.. like a comic or CGI movie..

Its in the athmosphere.. maybe it is because older games leaves you more to imagine.. I dont know.. but the water in Sh4 looks not like water..

Jeez I thought me having 5 ensured I had a problem.
Now I feel a lot better about that 5.
5 is virtually nothing.
