Default Definition of awesome

As far as games go, that would be this:

Will Crysis 2 Be Able To Render New York City Like This?

There's no direct link to Crysis 2 - though there might be - but that doesn't make it any less awesome.

To summarize: an entire city, every building has an interior, at least all the walls dividing floors into rooms are fully destructible. Runs on your average desktop.

Wowh. Just imagine this technology getting combined with the display of virtual 3D boards for a chess engine! It adds a whole new meaning to the term "taking en passant".

Amazing piece of software there, compiles X-box, PS3 and PC code simultaneously, you can edit on the fly and see the results on all three at once apparently, which should hopefully stop the problem of dodgy ports.

But amazing stuff indeed, although I imagine if the player gets a bit overzealous and tries to knock down a city block it might give it pause to think, but hell, for standard playing environments I don't think it can be beaten.

Oh, and the 'en passant' rule is win, I've caught some people out with that before

I play(ed) correspondence chess, and do chess analysis, chess problems and also know my way around computer chess and old board computers. Pogo I never visited. If there is a chess server that I have occasionally visited in the past, than it was Chessbase's.
