Default REQ - Hoping for this torpedo in SH5.

From page 19 of the Grey Wolves Manual:

Stock Silent Hunter III includes graphics and modeling information for the T VII Steinbarsch (―rock bass‖) torpedo, but the torpedo is not available in the game. Germany produced at the very end of the war 100 of these wakeless, 45-knot, hydrogen peroxide-fueled torpedoes with LuT pattern following and a range of 8 km, but none went to sea before the end of hostilities.6 The Silent Hunter III game engine only reads one character in the applicable .cfg file when identifying torpedo types, so only 10 types of torpedoes (numbered 0 – 9) are allowed, BUT the T VII would be the 11th torpedo type. GWX does not replace any other torpedo types to enable the T VII.
A small request, that seems doable.

Doubt it and ^ that's why.

The ability to MOD one would be nice though.

Observe that the Walter Turbine torpedoes were supposed to have a maximum range of 21 kilometers! I'd rather they spend more time improving the acoustic homing torpedo and it's counter measures:

Sure being able to mod one would be wild, but one wonders if a DD in 5 will stop on a dime to avoid it.

As per Dan...it would be nice to see one modded so players have the option.

Default your are right!

After reading the replies to my post, I realized I should have been more descriptive in my request for the torpedo. I completely agree with all of you that it would be great to be included as mod. I think it would be interesting to see what effect it would have had on convoys had it been in service earlier. Well, let's keep out fingers crossed boys......Time to head back to the pub!

There's a good chance the ability to have the latest equipment earlier than it was historically will be modded in just like in previous game versions.

Mine's a pint

Nice pic at the end of your message jimbuna! Love it. Do you by chance watch the show "The Office"? For some reason, every time I see your screen name I want to say "Big Tuna" and not jimbuna. No offense mind you. My problem is I keep getting served the 20oz+ glasses....Oh wait, that's not a problem. Here's to SH5 being an open ended game that modders can tune up for us simmers not gamers! Nothing against gamers, I just prefer accuracy, detail, and the like....
