English gramma

Yesterday I told me little sister, a joke that I red here on subsim homepage. I even told her that it was a joke that can't be told in
other languages
it was this one:

"TEACHER: Donald, what is the chemical formula for water?
DONALD: H I J K L M N O.
TEACHER: What are you talking about?
DONALD: Yesterday you said it's H to O."

She instantly replied that it was WRONG!! She said:
You do not say H to O
Correctly gramma it's H trough O

I confess that I'm not perfect in english gramma, but H through O ??

It doesn't sound right in my ears.
