The mystery of the dissapearing saves

I was playing a campain as part of the WaW campain and saved mid patrol beacouse it was late and I had to sleep. I saved on the surfus and there wasn't any one near by that I could see or hear on the HP. Well I came back to it this morning to finish off the patrol beacouse I had some free time. To my shock when I loaded up the game the saves for my patrol were gone! They weren't corrupt or anything like that, they just didn't exsist.

Has any one else run into this phenominon? If there is some one that knows about this here, is there a way to get the saves back?

Yup, SH3 bug. Get out of the game and then just change the foldername of your Captain/Kaleun (like mine: "My Documents\SH3\data\cfg\Careers\Wilhelm Rollmann_"). The least corrupting way is to add an "x" or "_". When you restart the game the savegames should have returned. You just need to keep that added character until after you have returned to port.
