I was tooling along in my little S-18 and got jumped by a Zero, who did all kinds of mean nasty ugly things to my sub. I spent half a day putting everything to rights, including my Diesels which took about 75% damage each. However, when everything was repaired the engines wouldn't work! I submerged and the electrics worked fine, but back on the surface the diesels were inop again. I couldn't go anywhere and had to wait for another plane to come along and do the job right. Speaking of which, why is there not an abandon ship command? Stupid.

Fuel tanks empty? Don't think it would be loss of props since the elecs worked
![]() Abandon ship would be nice.

Nope. Plenty gas in the tanks. All that go-juice and no way to combust it. Shame.

Sometimes the engines are so damaged that everything that can be repaired is, but they are still non-op. End of patrol.

do you see a red stripe on the end of the diesel engines picture on the damage screen?
they can get "reported" as fixed but still be completely destroyed ![]() i think this is your problem, if the red bar shows "1" when you put your mouse on it then its 100% damaged = destroyed |
