Float Plane machine guns

I'm not sure what the US float plane machine guns are, but they seem uber. They've always been like this from stock to any mods. I often watch planes attack ports and ships and when one of these comes through, it's machine guns seem almost as powerful as deck guns.

Anyone ever checked it or noticed it.

Are you speaking of the Catalina PBYs? There was a thread comparing them to AC-130 gunships not too long ago.
