SABOTAGE!!!

Went on my ninth patrol last night,Kaleun Becker who has had an epic run of the best luck in all my careers was nearly lost last night

Departed Wilhelmshafen on 7 July 1940 with a highly experienced crew in his Type ViiB (The black wolf) after less than a day at see the crew watched a Commerce Raider heading out to her hunting grounds as we did the same. Set my nav points around the eastern side of Helgoland and went into Tc128(Thankfully) after about 3minutes I had alarms, critical flooding in my forward crew compartment,no periscopes(automatic turnaround to base)Deck gun total write off and hydrophone gone!!! Managed to control flooding, barely(running longer repair times had me a bit worried)

Turned back to base, after another10minutes at TC32 it happened again just with more disasterous consequences, lost A topnotch Officer(Watch,Gunnery & Repair Iron Crossed 1&2) hydrophone & Radio ops(see IC 1&2) and 5 other skilled crew Nearly lost my boat too 3 compartments flooding heavily saved them and decided to head to Helgoland(closer than wilhelmshafen, not wanting to risk a 3rd accident could have been all over for Becker then).

Docked now,new crew still wet behind the ears

I take it this would have been caused by Sabotage & Malfunctions being on?

The Brits have mined Helgoland, caught me out once, thought at first I'd been shelled by a ship, turned back to base and caught another one, all hands lost. I stay clear of there from then on.

that could explain it,I thought aircraft,a rogue DD and minefields, when it happened went to freecam(I enjoy the GWX eyecandy) and saw no mines, which would be the safest route out then? or is it time to transfer?

I don't play with sabatoge and malfunctions my self, they conflict with other some mods I am runing I am told, but my understanding is that these are minor issues; nothing like what you are experianceing there. That dose sound a lot like a mine strike though, I have had my run in with mines in the past and wasn't so lucky as to survive long enuf to strike a second, but that ammount of damage seems reasonable for mines. Eather that or the Tommies have one hell of a sabature in your midst.

It was a mine field. The British dropped mines there from the air. Stay farther East and follow the coast up towards Norway and you will be ok.

I've had a few like periscopes that don't work too well for the most but this was extreme,I have struck a mine in a different Career but never two! My kaleun must be the luckiest S.O.B alive,he's survived some serious trash can dropping sessions, taken on the Nelson...finished her off with a shot using UZO(scopes knocked out),snuck into Scapa amongst other things and now survived 2 mines

You are lucky. I don't think many U-boat skippers survive two mine hits and live to tell about it.

I had this happen and thought somehow the "S" class sub caught me.
Now when I leave I stay well east of Helgoland and hope for the best.
