Default Windows 7 Fun

Afternoon all, I trust you all had a great thanksgiving and looking forward to a wonderful Christmas season.

Was looking for assistance or people's thoughts and experiences with SH4 and Windows 7.

I recently upgraded to Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit, and I can say I truly love it as an OS.

Not realizing that during the install it would wipe my drive, I had to reload everything, including a few emails back and forth to Ubisoft to get my Uboat missions key code.

So all is well and all is installed, but when I opened the game, it looks like a cartoon again as it did stock out of the box, the first time I loaded it.

So, I downloaded the newest Video Drivers for my Nvidia 9800 card, and got thme setting how I liked them. maxed out on the video card, and maxed out in the game settings. Then for the first time I down loaded the Real Fleet Boat to get the eye candy, which still really isnt up to the almost photographic look I had before, but looks to be a great mod.

So, now when I get into the game, if I select Uboat missions, all is well, when I select US submarine career my screen pixelates out and my game stops working.

My specs are AMD fx2 64 bit, MSI mobo, 4 gigs ram, Nvidia 9800 card.

Any thoughts?

Don't have a clue about Win 7...but what ver of DX are you running? Make sure you load DX from the disk. The game has a fit with DX 10 on many systems if that's what DX is with 7.

You can have multi installs of DX without a problem and each should read or load what is needed. I read a long thread about this somewhere. I was having some of the problems you had when I updated to 10.

You probably are, but make sure you're running as administrator . Wish I could help more..the brain power is in the hardware thread...try there.

you may just have dx11 with windows 7 so i would load dx10 (just to be safe) then load dx9.0c then the dx9 stuff from the game disk (because it is different from the regular dx9 stuff) this way you know you covered all versions

now dont be insulted but we all forget the most simple stuff sometimes

did you reuse your old motherboard, chipset, lan drivers because its very likely they wont work with win 7 because they arent compatable and you need different versions of all you mobo drivers and video drivers.
