Default Recommended max TC?

Having read that high TC (time compression) screws up game mechanics, 'teleporting' ships/planes & weather change checks, what is the recommended max TC I should run?

I've recently adopted 128 as the max, except when cruising to/from a patrol grid.

Yep, I usually stick to 128x myself, unless I'm crossing the Atlantic. If the weather gets stuck I drop down to 32x and go watch TV for a bit

Hi KNomad I play 256 tc at 50nm map scale.

That way with a tc drop to 32 I have a fair chance with attacking planes and ships.

Do you use SHCommander to set tc values ?

I rarely go above 32x when I am surfaced, so the aircraft don't miss me or surprise me too much. I rarely go below 128x when I am submerged until I have a contact, because there are far too many unescorted ships in the game and running fast means I won't find so many ships that shouldn't be there.

Max x64 or x16 when snorkelling and always remain at x1 when in acoustic or visual contact with any enemy. After four years with SH3 have yet to experiance a game-save bug, teleporting ships or repeat visits from the ship(s) just sunk but not sure if this is causal or coincidental.

I generaly keep it below 128. The only times I will go above that is if I am moving to intercept and I know I am not likely to cross paths with any other ships; for example when I get a radio contact report on a convoy and have a good vector for intercept. I just don't like to sit and wait some times to close that distance. The only other time I go above that is if I am travling long distances and don't have time to waste waiting to get there. When I do have time in my day I generaly use the transit time to catch up on my reading while the game tools along at 128 TC, this is a fine game for reading you know.

2048x when crossing the atlantic/indian ocean in no-aircover/no-traffic areas

256x when cruising around in aircover/traffic areas

256x always in mediterranean and black sea

You know, I have little time to play, so I must speed up some things...

but oh boy how I wish I had such a button for real life

I sometimes die of random collisions in the middle of the north sea. Is my 8000x TC to blame?
