Default Re-Supply

I know that in GWX arriving at the ordered zone and patroling for 24hrs. isn't necessary or required for renown. But if in between destinations you stop for fuel/torpedoes like I did in Las Palmos (is that right?) and the standing orders are now NULL...does this affect anything concerning renown when I retrurn to base? I did not go to my ordered area. I sailed down to north of Freeport and now I am returning to base after 32 days on patrol and will probably run into more enemy convoys. I am in summer of 42'.

Nope. Rearming has no effect on renown. Well, not directly - It does enable you to sink a full load of torpedoes' worth of ships, thereby adding renown

A NULL patrol grid basically means, "Go wherever you like, or just head straight for home."

[However, if you get that message when you start a new patrol (And your base was not changed when you left) then something may be out of order.]

Doesn't docking at a resupply location apply your current renown towards medals and promotions and zero it for the return trip? That would mean that you would have to achieve the requirements for certain honors before refueling rather than assuming the cumulative result of both patrols, right?

All orders are NULL

Well...now that I have returned to my home base, it will not let me upgrade my sub or let me transfer. I am at base before mission and my orders are still NULL. Maybe a GWX thing....not sure. Like I said above...I stopped at Las Palmos for fuel and torps and went to Freeport, then from there straight to St. N. Just wondering if I threw a wrench in the gears.

Are you sure it's your HOME base? Maybe you were transfered, otr the base changed meanwhile?

Try using SH3 Commander - it allows yout o change your status from "at other base" to "at home base" - I never used that option though.
