Default F1 menu issue - WAC or MaGUI?

Hi, not sure where to post the questions, so I figured I start a new topic.

I have WAC 4.1 installed with MaGUI on top. Everything works great excpet the F1 menu is all messed up.

  • "Other Controls" shows just the Support Ships.
  • "Enemies of Germany" shows what should be on the Other Controls page.
  • Resupply Info, Uboats and Distance Info, and Flotilla News I and II are all blank.

Also, I can't find the flags help mentioned in some of the docs anywhere.

Anyone have a thought on what I might have done wrong... or what could be wrong to cause this? I'm not even sure which of the two mods control this.

Thanks

JD

I bet you're absolutely right about what caused this... but I thiink it must have happened before the mod was packaged and uploaded. I have no compatibility tab for the en_help.txt file, and looking inside the WAC archive I find the file is indentical to what's installed in my Data\Menu folder.

Can anyone post the contents of the file as it should be? If you would be so kind, I'll just copy/paste it in.

Thanks.

you are right about this issue Jdkbph ! i 'missed' that f1 thing becuase i never use f1 button .it is easy to be 'fixed' .when i got some time i will give you the solution (if anyone else didn't do it before me)...till then ...just don't use the f1 button. really ....,just curious, what exactly is so interesting in f1 infos?

Makman to the rescue again!

And again, thanks for the reply (and the mod of course)

I use the F1 key to figure out who I can sink and when. I also use it to figure out where I can find replenishment and when.

I thought it would also help me figure out which flag I'm looking at through my periscope... but now I'm not so sure. Was there a slide out or something in the mod that showed all the flags? Or am I thinking of another mod?

I'm using MaGUI with WAC 4.1 BTW...

Thanks.

do this : disable ALL the mods you are running and left ONLY the WAC 4.1 and tell me if your F1 page is ok . if i remember correct the f1 page at wac4.1 is a little messed ! if so...then i cannot do anything if first the f1 page is sorted out from Hansolo. then i will make MaGui compatible to wac's f1 page
about the flags: there is a button on UZO for the flags in MaGui
you are wellcome Jdkbph

ok Jdkbph....it was easier than i thought

the f1 page of WAC 4.1 is ok (only a small error was made there ....they had named the resupply infos as...attack orders-fixed)
i made the MaGui compatible with wac's f1 page

get the 'fix' from my ff page

thank you for mentioning this issue

*first post at MaGui's thread updated*

bye

seems related, so I'll ask this here ...

i miss the flags pulldown sheet at attack and obs scopes. As it is I have to scroll through the recognition manual covers, which just takes too long. Maybe as I get better at flag recognition this won't be such an issue, but is there some way I can put them back in the 'scopes while using MaGui please? Using GWX3+MaGui+TMT v2+Assisted Plotting.
Very much liking GWX3+MaGui tho still getting used to it; and I suck so far at manual targeting but I can only get better.
Thanks for the great mods everyone!! SO improves SH3 it's ridiculous.

p.s. - is M.E.P. compatible with GWX3, or not necessary with their new environment fixes?

hello Artao,
i didn't like this drag sheet for flags thats why it i didn't include it in MaGui.as i said there is a flag indentifier at uzo page,i think is enough so no further changes will take place in MaGui

about M.E.P : this is an environment mod .you can run it with gwx3 .keep what you like most ..... this is called...'tastes'

Fair enough. Thanks for your help. Would I be able to 'mod the mod' myself to put the flag pull-downs back in? If so, how? New to modding, but want to learn ... (I want to put more stars in the game ), should probably start with simple stuff like this tho, eh?

ok Artao,here is what you have to do (be carefull to follow EXACTLY the steps and always back-up first the original files before proceeding in case that something goes wrong):

1.disable MaGui
2.go to sh3/data/menu/gui/layout/ and find there the Flaggen.tga .copy and paste it to your desktop
3.rename it (at desktop) to Flaggen2.tga
4.open the FILES OF MAGUI and drop the Flaggen2.tga in data/menu/gui/layout/
5. open (with notepad) the menu_ini of MaGui and AT THE BOTTOM END copy and paste this:

[G3F I415]
Name=Flags panel
Type=1031;Stat bmp array
ItemID=0x26030001
ParentID=0x3F000000
Pos=-879,1506,1024,768
Color=0xFFFFFFFF
Materials=1
Display=2;Linear
Mat 0=data/Menu/Gui/Layout/Flaggen2.tga
Crop 0=0,0,1,1
MatFlags=0x9
TexFmt=0x9
Drag=true
BmpState=1
NeedFocus=true
SelOne=true
IdGroup=0
StatesColors=0xFFFFFFFF, 0xFFFFFFFF, 0xFFFFFFFF, 0xFFFFFF

6.save and enable MaGui again and you are ready to go

bye
