YOU SUCK!

One of my young student pilots today - was talking about favorite movies - two of his favorite films are Transformers and Transformers 2

but the truly hilarious part...

he had NO idea that they are adaptations of an early 1980s cartoon for little kids.

maybe i suffer from some sort of rare and debilitating 30 year old's naivety, but i was shocked that anyone could not know that.

it frightens me that kids these days LOVE a movie to death because of the cool "splosions" and not for the story line or moving and thought provoking plot.

i truly believe we are destined for this...

ps.

I HATE THE RECENT TRANSFORMERS MOVIES

I doubt anyone on a naval forum like this has forgiven him for the travesty called Pearl Harbor. The movie is positively laced with glaring inaccuracies. The filming of the decommissioned Spruance-class destroyers with their distinctive modern silhouettes being bombed and on fire during the attack being the most painful. The first Spruance-class ship was not commissioned until 1975.

And don't even get me started on Armageddon. The scene where people all over the planet are simultaneously observing and cheering the destruction of the asteroid up in the bright blue sky always makes me howl. Yes, it's 12:00 noon in India, France and Nebraska!

Bay needs to get out of the movie making business. Transformers 1 was okay if you went in expecting nothing. Transformers 2 or what little I saw of it before I drove out of the Drive in theatre (Was there seeing The Hangover with my missus) was awful.

Shame that some kids are so ignorant of where some of their favorite movies come from. The early transformers cartoons were awesome, and still are.

Me too, I mean, it had some good bits, the attack segment was reasonably well done, although I still facepalm at the Spruances And the Japanese planning segments were done well too, but the rest of it...pure garbage.
