I'm new to this site, but i have been playing Sub sims since Silent Service on the NES. I loved Silent Hunter 1, but SH2 didn't thrill me so i drifted away for awhile. A couple months ago i bought SH3 from Direct2Drive and was very impressed. The Dynamic Campaign that was missing from SH2 was back!
Anyway, Last week i bought SH4 and the Uboat Missions addon. Its good to be back in an American Boat like SH1 again. I have been lurking around this site for awhile and it seems like this is the place to come from Submarine Sims. My questions are... I'm running SH4 1.5 with RFB 1.52, What are some suggestions for compatible mods? Interested in new subs, ships ect. I would like to operate US boats in the Atlantic, is there a RFB compatable mod that allows this? Thanks, I'm looking forward to becoming part of the community. ![]() |

welcome aboard
![]() One mod I certainly recommend is RSRDC by lurker_hlb3. It completely enhances the stock campaign to provide historical shipping. Historical shipping lanes, convoys, task forces, sea battles... it's all there ![]() But be advised, it'll be harder to find ships. I don't know about US boats in the atlantic, but should you want to sail U-Boats, OM (again by lurker) is a must.

Thank You, after alot of reading here i have decided to try Trigger Maru Overhaul 1.7 and i'm really enjoying it so far. I notice there is a version of RSRD for TMO so i'll probably check that out after i have gotten used to TMO.
I'm really impressed with how far this sim has evolved since SH1 or even SH2. The Dev Team has made a great sim and the Modders have taken it to incredible new levels! |

There are so many good mods to choose from... for ATO action you will probably have to go with Ops Monsun.
But TMO is also an excellent choice! Welcome Warlord!

There were indeed US fleet boats in the Atlantic in the first year or so of the war. Research Subron 50 (submarine squadron 50) if your interested in it. I think about 6 Gato's were working out of Roseneath, Scotland. A few took part in Operation Torch. I started work on that, but abandoned it, as it was more then what i could chew. Lurker expressed an interest in that campaign some weeks back, but i haven't heard any more of it since.

Does anyone know where I can find comprehensive instruction on how to do Manual TDC on a u-boat? I have the method down pat on U.S. boats but am literally "shooting in the dark" when it comes to u-boats!
Thanks in advance. |
