Default Shoot the moon

Catch a live broadcast from the LCROSS space probe as it shoots a projectile into the lunar surface to gather more space stuff.

Quote:
NASA’s Lunar Crater Observation and Sensing Satellite (LCROSS) mission will come to a dramatic conclusion at approximately 4:30 a.m. PDT (7:30 a.m. EDT) on Friday, Oct 9, 2009, with the impact of the LCROSS Centaur upper stage rocket and four minutes later, the impact of the LCROSS Shepherding Spacecraft into Cabeus crater near the moon’s south pole. To mark the event, NASA Ames Research Center is hosting ‘LCROSS Impact Night.’ News media are invited to cover the three-part event that is open to the public and free of charge.

Death to the moon dwellers!
Death to the lunar aggressors!
May they all be crushed and die under our mighty bombardment.
Earth shall prevail; victory shall be total.
We will make them pay for their arrogance.

It'll be after we do this that we'll find out that the Moon is actually the Death Star in disguise....

I watched a show "Universe" the other night. I was amazed at the fact that the Moon is slowly moving further from the earth.

To the tune of an inch or so a year

Eventually it will be far enough that it will have a dramatic effect on our climate and oceans.

Wheres Al Gore when you need em.

Nah, they're way too slow, we'll bombard them to rubble before they can get out of range!

No the Death Star orbits Saturn:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mimas_(moon)

Speaking of Saturn a new massive ring around Saturn has been discovered:
http://news.nationalgeographic.com/n...g-largest.html

Quote:
If the new ring were visible from Earth, it would look twice as wide as the full moon.
