Hi all. I'm a huge fan of sh3, and have managed to get it running on my hp/vista laptop. The question I have is what mods should I add to the vanilla version I got to make it better? Right now I'm playing on 100% realism and I want to keep it that way. Mods I was thinking about is like tools for the map section and plotting... where's the best place to start?
Another question I have is where can I play online? I'm pretty sure I'm a fantastic u-boat captain, so it would be awesome to join an online game ![]() |

If you like "realism", I have some answers to your questions:
I suggest you GWX 3.0 definitely +SH3 Commander. There's an online group, very well organized, with daily standard missions, campaign missions and so on, and its online address is http://nordfront.org/xvii-flottille/ You can take a look there, maybe you will find what you're looking for. By the way, I've used to think of myself the exactly way that you do about yourself in this moment, but when I've joined that group, I've changed my mind a little ... ![]() |

You could go for one of the supermods as they add a lot to the game, a hell of a lot. I personally use GWX3.0 which is available in the mods section and adds map plotting tools but there are others like NYGM, WAC. I've not tried them so for that reason I'm not going to push you the GWX route, just see for yourself.
As far as multiplayer goes, there's a SH3 Multiplayer section on these forums too, go have a look there and see what you can sort out.

Welcome matey
Search is your friend; there are numerous threads on noobie topics. Also the GWX3.0 manual is the best Game manual ever written; it's a short read, but worth it
