Default Lost and recently developed photos of Pearl Harbor Dec. 7, 1941

A friend wwho knew that I was into WWII Naval Sims sent these to me.

There are to many to post on the forum so I have made them available at http://www.silent-hunter-addict.com/...RL_HARBOR.html for your view if desired. They are downloadable by copy/paste.

Is this one of the lost photos? I think I've seen this picture of the USS Shaw blowing up ever since I was a kid.

The third photo from the top with an aircraft in it presumably a betty or zero... Kind of chilling

I think five hours after the Pearl Harbor attack, Japan invaded the Philippines.

Sorry everone,

My friend led me to believe that the photographs were fairly new. Thanks to some forum members I now know these have already been published on the net.

Actually in the hours after there, was a massive air raid on Clark and Iba airfields in Luzon, in which MacArthur's planes were destroyed on the ground thanks to his dawdling. (He knew Pearl had been hit) The main Japanese invasion at Lingayen Gulf didn't occur until December 22nd, but with US air power in the Philippines pretty much destroyed the issue was already decided.

The Betty was a land based medium bomber. Only carrier based planes hit Pearl. The only other aircraft it could be would be the Val dive bomber and the Kate torpedo plane. The Val has fixed landing gear, no landing gear are seen in that pic. The Kate has a fairly long wingspan. So I am guessing this is a Zero that just flew over the sub base at Pearl.
I've studied the attack on Pearl Harbor off and on for about 25 years. Some of these pics I have never seen. Appreciate you posting them.

Here is video of the first man to earn the CMH in WW2 and he did it at Pearl Harbor. He also happens to now be 100 years old and the oldest living recipient.
