Default Ooops! Thank goodness no Geneva Convention yet!

And on New Years Eve no less! I didn't realize I killed the survivors! SO SORRY! (At least the Geneva Conventions weren't ratified for several more years!)

I'll sink the fishing vessels, junks, ect....they at least give you a ton.

But feel free to sink em all.

If I shoot down a plane and the pilot chutes in the water, they never obey our command to board, just try and swim away, so we shoot em.

One less life raft for the Japanese Kamikaze Life Raft Corps in the last desperate days of the war.

Tsk Tsk you did break the The Second Geneva Convention 1906; the Amelioration of the Condition of Wounded, Sick and Shipwrecked Members of Armed Forces at Sea. Lockwood's going to have your ass for this one!

What your thinking of is the Forth Geneva Convention in 1949 that deals with the treatment of civilians during war.

So to break it down, the First Geneva Convention deals with the treatment of battlefield casualties and is from 1864.

The Second Geneva Convention is for the Amelioration of the Condition of Wounded, Sick and Shipwrecked Members of Armed Forces at Sea and is from 1906.

The Third Geneva Convention is on on the treatment of POW's and is from 1929.

Hey, I didn't know you could tell downed pilots to board! Are you jokin?
I always look to see if the RESCUE icon is usable, but it's always greyed out! What's the trick?

Wouldn't it be cool if downed/rescued enemies could 'leak' information that you could use... like convoy positions or short term naval/air plans? That'd rock!

How many crewmembers on the average US sub spoke enough Japanese to be able to converse with them? Plus, I doubt if the average Japanese stoker, cook or pipefitter fished from the drink was much informed beyond what the name of his ship was.

You can pick them up mission or no mission. I was waiting in ambush for the Leyte TF. Then I picked up the largest plane group ever, about 50 planes flying in formation. Turned out they were US carrier planes. I had my cams on and got to watch a large strike on the incoming jap TF. Finally attacked it, sunk a few and it went on. I then saved over 20 downed pilots.

They should show up as contacts if you have them on. If not, the crew will spot them. Look for the pink smoke, get close, aim your binocs on them and the lifevest icon will light up..click and save them

haha..that's cool! I've missed out on any events outside of my own convoy hunting. Never knew the computer actually played these battles out if I wasn't around to witness it. LOL

Count your blessings. Over at SH3 I accidently sank a hospital ship and GWX had me shot for it but I doubt RAdm Lockwood will do that when you return to base. With that U-Boat career cut short decided to take an SH4 S-Boat out of Manila for a change.

Good Shooting

Really? Did you get a message about being executed in SH3 Commander, or something?

No message but showed up dead on return to St. Nazaire. Asked about it on this thread and learned it was built in to GWX:

Figured a move to the Pacific might keep me from getting tied to a virtual post with a blindfold and one last cigarette. ("No thanks, I'm trying to quit!")

Since Lockwood let Mush Morton get away with a war crime it was carte blanche for everyone. I don't think many followed Morton's example.
