Default Hello and thank you

Hi everyone.
I found this site a few years ago whilst looking for an SH4 patch and discovered the wonderful world of mods! Having never had a pc before ( I bought it especially to play SH4!), I had never even heard of them.

It's lucky I found you guys, otherwise SH4 would have been consigned to the shelf a long time ago. Unfortunately I got struck with a bad case of MOD FEVER. I wanted to try it all. I've never made it into '43 without starting again with a different MOD. Tried all the major ones and god knows how many of the minor tweaks. Thrown so many mods at my game that it turned into mod soup and had to reinstall countless times.
Anyway, I've finally got my game set up pretty much exactly how I want it, and am determined to complete a career. I sail my S-boat out of Manilla this afternoon - wish me luck.

So I wanted to say a HUGE thank you to all the modders out there. Believe me, if you have made any mod in the last 2 years, no matter how large or small, I WILL have tried it!

THANK YOU

(That was a huge thank you)

Classic, I've been there too.
Mods are made to improve something, but it can actually kill the joy of playing a game for us "normal mortal" gamers.

Kudos to all modders, big or small, I definetly agree, but the mod download section of this forum is such a vast jungle of mods that I get lost just by looking in that direction.

Brew.

Welcome aboard Sergei . Hope your PC is good enough because in about 6 months you'll be playing SH5 . May I also recommend getting a copy of SH3? The 2 games are still complementary and the SH3 mods are still refining the game .

SH3 + GWX + OLC GUI + Thomsens Sounds + SH4 effects and lifeboats + a dozen or so minor tweaks!

Yep been there, done that. And the whole of my post above also applies to SH3. Never made it into '41 without restarting with a different mod combo.

With mods both games are outstanding! And I really couldn't say which I prefer.
Some days I fancy sailing around in the crisp bright waters of the pacific. Other days I prefer the dank depressing grey of the Atlantic.

With all of that I don't think I could find the time for SH5 too!
