Is Damage Control Fixed?

I was perusing this old post:
http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/show...=109849&page=3

AVGWarhawk was very vocal and the OP(good thread BTW. Being a SH4 noob, I learned a lot).

From what I gathered, the Damage Control system in the early days of SH4 was open to some pretty good debate on whether it was good, bad, or broke. I was left with the impression it was broke. The discussion left off at the 1.2 patch. One of the biggest issues in that thread was a compartment would show repaired after flooding with all the water pumped out, and when the sub dived, she went to the bottom. Other issues were raised, but that seemed to be a dominant one.

Now the game is up to 1.5, does anybody think the DC system is better or the same?

Thanks.

I know the problem still exists with the old S class boats. The fleet boats are fine now I think.

The damage control with RFB mod seems very good.
I can't speak to how it works with vanilla 1.5
