Default Done it at last !!!!! (SH4 this time ;) )

While on patrol in the Marinas Islands, operating out of Brisbane, Australia, the USS Trigger, a Gato class submarine detected a Japanese task force on Radar.

I managed to successfully maneuver Trigger into a position ahead of the task force, and waited for them to come to me while I crept along at 1knt. The task force was comprised of a large mixture of crusiers both light and heavy, with the lead ship being a 32,000 ton Kongo Battleship. Reports had been recieved several days prior (game time) of the task force but it was too far away and nothing more was thought of it....however it wondered right into Trigger's path.

After making confirmation that I was dealing with a Kongo Battleship, all other targets were secondary....the Battleship had to be sunk!!!

The task force was crusiing along at a leisurly 17 knots as previous reports had indicated from COMSUBPAC. However, I went through the motions and worked out the speed just to be sure, and sure enough, 17 knots was confirmed. I let loose 6 torpedos on the Kongo from 1600yds, all but one torpedo successfully detonating, the 5th being a dud sadly, all others detonated fine. Trigger proceeded to run deep right down to some 475 feet and make her escape.

Secondary explosions were heard from underneath as the Kongo sank, and Trigger endured quite a pounding on from the 4 destroyers savagely seeking revenge for the loss of their battleship. The Japanese eventually gave up, and returned to escort the surviving ships.

I must admit, Radar makes maneuvering into an attack position childs play. My heart was actually running in high gear as I calculated the torpedo solution....yes that's sad to admit I know, but I really wanted to sink this battleship to make it my first battleship sinking of SH4. I snapped off some screenies of the Kongo's demise for your enjoyment.

Will there be a Medal of Honor waiting for Cmdr Jonas Blaine when he and Trigger return to Brisbane....I can only wait and see. Enjoy skippers!!
