Default Radar Questions

Hello all!

I have some SH4 noob questions about radar:

1) We don't have a scope for the SD (air) radar, right? Any mods on that?

2) Is there any command for a radar depht? Or we have to manually set it?
* sigh* the old SH1 had it...

3) Can we extend the radar antenna for the SV-1 radar? How I do it?

Thanks you all!

Hi with regards to issue 1 I don't believe so but I'm sure that there are other more expreianced and knowledgable skippers on here who wil be able to confirm this.

Issue 2 and 3 not in stock however several of the mods replicate this feature although I think the key command is different on them.

Only mid '42 in my RFB career so haven't even got the rader stage as yet!

Hope this is of some use and happy hunting

1. SD-1 doesn't have a scope, right? I thought it was just a light bulb. Maybe SD is just the light bulb (no bearing, no range) and the SD-1 added in range (A-scope).

2. In a lot of mods and I think the stock game it's usually ";" key but I'm pretty sure it can be added manually to the keyboard config file with minimal fuss.

3. I thought the surface search radars didn't extend? In RFB+RSRD I can extend my SD antenna but that's it.

The SV1 you raise with the T key. Even though it is air radar, it will also pick up surface targets.

Here is some info on it. It gives ranges of the ships you can pick up. TMO does a fairly accurate job with the ranges. Obvious, you get it late war.

Also love the APR1 radar detection with TMO, so you know if a ship has surface radar.

Armistead,

Just checking....in this case, T in a mod, not in the stock game, right? Which mod?

All you mates,

Thanks for the help and infos.
I love this forums...the game was released 2 years ago, and here we are, playing, tweaking, playing... Imagine if we had a Holodeck!

Default Tench Class Mod and Lack of Radar

I do not have radar of any kind on a Tench class boat with TMO installed on SH4 1.5. I installed the Tench class mod but no radar for it.

Is there a way to reconfig a file or two to get radar for the Tench class boats. It works for the other classes.

Mike
