Default Will Neutral ships ....

Will neutral ships give away your location???

I have no evidence of it just wondering. I nearly brushed paint with one on the surface.

I don't think so. I am pretty sure that the AI does not allow for neutrals to react to your sub unless you attack them.

Just give them a friendly wave and you'll be fine

"Captain, submarine spotted!"

"Don't be ridiculous, Jenkins! That's obviously a whale with some deformity growing on its back!"

"But sir, there are men on top! Shouldn't we report it to the escorts?"

"Those aren't men, Jenkins. Those are monkeyfish, which attach themselves to whales for a free ride. I know a German submarine when I see one, and when I see one I'll report it. Now keep a good lookout. You never know when one of the blighters might show up!"

I've found something funny with the neutral merchants at night.
I they spot You, they start zig-zaging and turn searchligts on their flag to help You idendify them as neutral

I usually try to trade with them for fresh supplies.
