Ekelund range calculator

I discovered by chance that there is an Ekelund range calculator available on Apple's App Store. I didn't buy it (a bargain at $1.99), but the screenshot looks serviceable enough.

The real question is when is somone going to make one for PC.

Dosn't Ekelund ranging use a round slide rule like an Is Was?

I have the patterns to make an Is Was but does anyone have the patterns to print out an Ekelund Range calculator?

TLAM Strike, there are several Ekelund Range "calculators" available for pc, either as stand alone applications, or as exel style sheets (compatibile with microsoft excel or openoffice calc).
I have them, courtesy of phil21 who passed me these applications some years ago.

I saw that as well, Bill. I was just farting around in iTunes and on an impulse I typed in ekelund and lo and behold there was an app!

Is it the same thing as the Bearing Rate Computer slide rule as shown on page 10-24 of the US Navy Ops Spec NRTC?

Is it the one on page 24 of that pdf? I once attempted to make one with a cad-program. But I overdid it on the smaller scale marks and placed it on the backburner. And later lost the file so i would have to start over. I'm not inclined to do so now though. All those lines were a pain in the stern.

There is was a slideruler made for use with SH4, a replica of what they used back then.

Are those 4 seperate discs, or just 2 of which the top is a (partial) see-through? If the latter, what is the relation between 90 degrees and (about) 1.93 degrees/minute?

[edit] I think I allready figured out the last question. The anglular rate per minute when moving at 1 knot at a distance of 1k yards. Correct?

Just two disks. The bottom disk includes the 'SPEED KNOTS' and 'RANGE YARDS' circles, the upper disk has the 'BEARING RATE' and 'ANGLE' circles.

Also, I believe you are correct in your deduction.
